Jurors’ Statements

We were both delighted to have been asked to jury this year’s 21st annual juried Artworks Oakville exhibition.

Unity, Elements of Design, and Composition are important building blocks in good art. That said, it is the artist’s own expression and belief in their own creative heartbeat is that moves us.

This was an exceptionally difficult task to judge so many wonderfully accomplished works. Choosing artwork to be accepted in and then to award prizes to specific pieces involves a lot of consideration as to conceptual, compositional, textural, and technical ability.

We as jurors wished to include a wide variety of themes, approaches, and media in accordance with the overall execution of the given image.

We would like to congratulate and celebrate all the artists who entered this show.
